Three Suites

“This collection of three suits is the result of drawings, watercolors, and designs made over a period of several years from The Outback desert of Australia, then Grand Cayman Island, and finally the Sydney beach town of Malabar. On my reluctant return from Australia in 2003 I decided it was time to assemble and color the fifty images and find a way to reproduce them. After a solo show in North Beach, San Francisco I settled on this loose portfolio style of presentation.

The Grand Cayman Suite is dedicated to Dr. Philip and Wen Shu Wander who came to my rescue at a very difficult time in my life.

The Outback Suite and The Malabar Suite are dedicated to Stacy Scheff, who was my muse, my love, and my fellow conspirator during most of the period of their execution.

On returning home to an environment that has always inspired me to generate art as meditation and therapeutic pursuit, I finished their color renderings and duplicated them for distribution. None of them represent actual animal life, but spring from the dreamtime world where I seem to have spent most of my creative life. In times of turmoil artists always seem to retreat to the green world for solace and hope. Enjoy them at your leisure. Each one represents many hours of my life. I hope you find it time well spent.”
